The purpose of the Survey is to collect information from parents/guardians, students, and staff about their opinions regarding school climate, culture, and learning attitudes. This information will inform and assess policy and practice in the Clark County School District.
Parent/guardian and staff surveys have 20 questions each and should take less than 5 minutes to complete. The student survey has 66 questions should take less than 10 minutes to complete.
All Survey response data is stored in a secure location and maintained by the Research Department. All Survey responses are kept completely confidential. Individual survey responses are not shared with school staff or anyone else. This means that any individual information collected is kept private and not used for any purpose that could identify an individual respondent. Students and parents/guardians are asked for student identification numbers to track response rate for whole schools, prevent duplication of entries, and to maintain the ability to aggregate responses as accurately as possible. Only Human Subjects Assurance trained personnel with knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) guidelines will have access to analyze the data.
Each parent/guardian may take one survey per child enrolled at a CCSD school. For example, in a two parent family with three children enrolled in CCSD schools, each parent can take the survey three times (up to a total of six surveys completed).
Your child’s student identification number is the same as their lunch number. It can be found by logging into Infinite Campus. If you cannot find your student’s identification number, please contact your child’s school. School contact information is available on the ccsd.net website.

The Survey is asking the level of agreement/disagreement with key areas of school climate and culture. Questions are provided to obtain information regarding various topics:
Survey results are used to show District administration and staff areas of success, areas in need of improvement, and to provide an overall evaluation of District performance. Aggregate Survey results are distributed at the school and District level. In turn, schools and District central offices use these results as a stakeholder feedback mechanism to:
Results of the Survey will be available to schools beginning in mid-January and they will be able to share responses to the community at that time.
While the Survey is not mandatory for parents/guardians, students, or staff, it is hoped that as many as possible complete the Survey. CCSD values the opinions of all CCSD stakeholders and considers it a top priority to hear their feedback. Importantly, the higher the response rate to the Survey, the more confident we can be that the attitudes and opinions reflected in the summaries represent those of the larger population.
The Survey is available online for all parents and students at http://ccsd.net/survey. The Survey can be accessed from a mobile phone, tablet, or traditional desktop or laptop computer.
